This year’s second Finnish Conducting School masterclass in Sofia had a special theme “The Art of Rehearsing the Orchestra”. The students worked with Sofia Sinfonietta on masterpieces by Mendelssohn, Mozart and Rossini, and gained insight into the difficult art of rehearsing the orchestra. The course consisted of lectures, planning sessions, feedback sessions, rehearsals with the orchestra and a public concert at the cultural center “Nadezhda”.
At the end of the masterclass Sofia Sinfonietta had the chance to vote for their favourite conductor among the students of the masterclass. This time the Orchestra Favourite Prize was awarded to Anton Legkii, who currently works as the 2nd Kapellmeister at Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. Impressed by Anton’s professionalism, the orchestra also invited him for a concert engagement during 2024. Congratulations!
